| About Football : A weekly record of the game 1882 See below for the history of this magazine
This is the second ever football specific publication in Britain after The Goal: The Chronicle of Football. Its provenance could not be better as it was started and edited by two of the biggest names in Victorian soccer, Charles Alcock and "Pa" Jackson.
It came out every Wednesday at the cost of 2d and only lasted for 28 issues from October 4 1882 until the 11th April 1883 .
The rugby museum at Twickenham have the first year bound into a volume as it was designed to do with page numbering running from the beginning to the end of the year. Many thanks to Debbie at the Rugby Museum. British Library don't hold any copies and unfortunately I have none for sale and I would always be interested in making an offer if someone out there has any of these significant publications for sale.
Each week was a compilation of the football news from around Britain. It was printed by Wright and Co. at the Cricket Press , 17 Paternoster Square, E.C..

"Football" merged with "Pastime" in April 1883 which had formed in 1883 and continued until at least 1895 as "Pastime with which is incorporated Football".
