Goalmouth

"Goalmouth"-the monthly national football magazine launched in May 1992 and lasted for just over one season (17 monthly issues), launching in May 1992 and ceasing in September 1993.It was published by EPG Publishing and was edited by John Jackson.By January 1993 the editor was Peter MacLeod who lasted 2 months before Mark Venables took over.The publisher also only lasted till November-changing to Parkmead Ltd.

It's interesting to see independent magazines starting at the same time as 90 minutes was about to be swallowed up by IPC.

The price was £1.50 on launch and quickly went up to £1.75 and this was reflected in the high quality paper used and the photographic reproduction work.A nice publication and a shame it failed after the one season.If anyone knows the inside story of Goalmouth I would be interested in hearing from you.
