Ran from it's Editorial office at 149 Fleet Street in London and was published by Promise Press Ltd of the same address.
On an issue from 1949 it advertises the fact "11th Year of publication" making its launch in 1938.
My knowledge is limited about Sport Weekly Magazine but it is clear forerunner of what we now recognise as a football magazine.It always featured other sports like horse racing,rugby and boxing but as the years progressed more and more of the content became football based.As you may have seen from my site's definitions I would not judge this a football magazine because the content is not 100% about football.But it remains a key source of football information for the 1930's and 1940's.The progression from earlier publications is that this paper did not include short stories and was completely factual.
