About Striker
Launched on Wednesday January 10th 1970 the "Great New Soccer Paper" -a new weekly magazine retailing at 9d.
Not to be confused with the Sun newspaper cartoon strip based comic that came out in 2003.
Full colour and 32 pages it ran for ?????.
A month after launch it was claiming to be "Britains's most widely read soccer magazine" which if true means it had larger circulations than World Soccer, Shoot, Goal and Charles Buchan-pretty impressive..
