| About Score "n" Roar
See below for the history of this magazine
On Monday 19th September 1970 IPC Magazines launched a new addition to their growing line of new weekly comics. Score 'n' Roar was a 32 page football comic/magazine featuring the same "two in one" gimmick as IPC's Whizzer and Chips had pioneered a year earlier. Score and Roar were effectively two 16 page comics, with Roar being a pull out in Score's centre pages.
Scorcher and Striker had launched earlier in the year making Score "n" Roar the third football only comic for kids to choose from. As you will see from my other pages the competition was too much.
Less than a year later and it was to merge with Scorcher and become one.
For a short period prior to it's demise it became just the "Score" from the 8th May 1971.
